Select Standard Configurations and Options for Sun Fire and Sun Blade Servers
Refreshing of Product Lines with Latest Technologies Triggers EOL

Customers can utilize the Upgrade Advantage Program if interested in upgrading.
 

Select standard configurations and options for Sun Fire X4140, X4240, and X4440 servers and Sun Blade X6240 and X6440 server modules have reached their end of life (EOL), as have the Sun Blade X6240 and X6440 with Solaris/Java Enterprise System preloaded and some Sun Startup Essentials options.

For these retiring products and options, Sun has designated the following key dates:

  • Last order date: July 17, 2009
  • Last ship date: October 16, 2009
  • End of service life: October 16, 2009

Sun regularly refreshes product lines with the latest technologies hence this announcement. Check with a Sun representative for specifics on the EOL configurations and options.

Customers can utilize the Upgrade Advantage Program if interested in upgrading their current Sun Fire X4140, X4240 and X4440 and Sun Blade 6240 and X6440. The Systems Practice is working with customers to minimize the transition.

It should be noted that the last ship date for the products in this announcement does not constitute a representation or warranty that Sun will accept or fulfill orders for product ordered by the Last Order Date set forth in this announcement or that Sun will ship product up to the last ship date in all instances. Specifically, any orders for such products received by Sun by the last order date may not be accepted or fulfilled as necessary to comply with applicable product supplies.
