CommunityOne West is a three-day event that will bring together developers, students, and technologists to focus on open source innovation and implementation. Slated for June 1-3, 2009, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the third annual developer conference is free on June 1, which promises an opening day keynote from John Fowler, executive vice president of Systems, and Dave Douglas, senior vice president of Cloud Computing and Chief Sustainability Officer, Sun Microsystems. Nominal fees to attend day 2 and 3's deep technology sessions will be instituted.
Sun is also providing free full conference passes for students to participate in the complete CommunityOne and JavaOne experience. Students will have full access to all general sessions, technology sessions, birds of feathers, and specially developed Java University classes, as well as the opportunity to network with leading-edge technologists from around the world.
Additionally, CommunityOne attendees receive free access to the JavaOne conference general sessions.
