Deploy Netra CP3260 Servers in a Solaris Cluster environment.

Solaris Cluster 3.1 and 3.2 now support the Sun Netra CP3260 ATCA Blade Server - a second-generation telecom blade that meets Advanced TCA standards. Solaris Cluster is a multi-system, multi-site disaster recovery solution and it can enhance the value proposition for the Netra CP3260 servers by enabling delivery of higher service levels, at lower service level costs and reduced risk, Sun reports.

Combining Sun's best of breed HA and virtualization technologies, Solaris Cluster manages the availability of applications services and data across local, regional and vastly dispersed datacenters. This solution can help Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) develop, optimize and deploy mission-critical solutions.

Support of the Netra CP3260 servers with Solaris Cluster 3.1 8/05, 3.2, 3.2 2/08, 3.2 1/09 allows these blade servers to be deployed in a Solaris Cluster environment which can help manage service levels and bring increased availability to application deployments, says Sun.

Support includes:

  • Sun StorageTek 2540 and 6140
  • HBA, Private Interconnect, Public Network XCP32X0-RTM-FC-Z
  • Onboard fabrics (via CP3240 switch)
  • Operating Systems Solaris 10 8/07 + patches, Solaris 10 4/08 + patches, Solaris 10 8/08 + patches

Solaris Cluster agents are available on Solaris for x86 and SPARC platforms.
