High density in a standard 42RU footprint with Sun Rack II

The Sun Rack II product line represents a new generation of data center optimized cabinets, including a selection of innovative low profile, highest density Power Distribution Units (PDUs) available in 12 different models, from 5kVA to 37kVA in single and three phase, low and high voltage versions. This allows as many as 42 C13 & 6 C19 outlets and 45 C13 & 9 C19 outlets on a single PDU. The Sun Rack II product line will enable higher than ever density of IT equipment within a standard 42RU rack footprint.

PDUs fit on either left or right rear inside of the rack. Up to two PDUs can be installed in a rack, one on each side. Rack includes the necessary PDU mounting brackets. PDUs do not take up any usable space inside the rack, allowing higher vertical density. PDUs provide unobstructed access to rear FRU's and accessories inside the rack. PDUs are easy and quick to mount within minutes and can be upgraded with higher density PDUs.

The Sun Rack II Cabinet is 42RU high, 1200mm deep, and 600mm wide, with industry standard 19-inch adjustable rails that accommodate most rack mountable IT equipment. Featured square hole mounting allows for a wide variety of product mounting methods for quick deployment, and its 80% door perforations provide one of the highest levels of air flow through a cabinet. The updated Sun Industrial Design with alloy doors and side panels delivers consistency with all of Sun's products and a clean and uniform look in the data center. Its user friendly features, such as fold-away anti-tilt bar, leveling feet, mounting brackets, and internal frame allow the Sun Rack II Cabinet to accept a variety of accessories. The cabinet is designed to handle up to 1005 pounds of equipment in the rack. Power (current in amperes) can be monitored at the rack level with an LCD screen on the PDU or remotely from a system on the network. This helps installers avoid overloaded circuits by providing a visible warning when the current draw is close to the maximum amperage draw of the PDU strip.

The extruded aluminum frame technology produces a cabinet that is 40 pounds lighter than equivalent steel cabinets. It includes T Slot extruded in horizontal and vertical internal frame to accept spring nuts (threaded blocks). The rack also has a quick release door mechanism and quarter turn fasteners on side panels. The cabinet's lighter weight makes it easier for shipping, handing and installation, particularly by one person. Mounting locations for a variety of components, virtually anywhere on the internal cabinet frame provide flexibility of management. The design makes it easy to install, remove and access the IT equipment through the front, rear and side panels.
