The Sun Streaming Software Release 2 continues to support Sun
Streaming System configurations supported by v1.10.
Sun has released the Sun Streaming Software Release 2 (AKA v2.0) and Transitioning Sun Streaming Software v1.8. By using the Capacity-On-Demand pricing model, Sun allows customers to purchase a lower streaming capacity at a lowered price, providing a lower entry price point for the system. Some of the highlights of the new Streaming Software are:
Release 2 includes all the features from Release 1.10.
The Sun Streaming Software Release 2 continues to support Sun
Streaming System configurations supported by v1.10 for production or
commercial use.
In addition, the release 2.0 also supports some experimental configurations
Sun Streaming System hardware configuration with one Sun Fire X4600 M2, one Sun Fire X4500 and four Sun Fire X4100 M2 servers
Standalone Sun Fire X4100 (M1 or M2) configuration
Limited Support for Tandberg Television’s Open Stream 4.X Digital Service Platform system meeting its interoperability requirements
Open Standards-based APIs enables ease of integration without proprietary lock-in
