Sun xVM Ops Center is a tool for data center automation and virtualization management of servers at high-scale. It contains features to control the hardware and software elements of the stack (real and virtual). Sun released the next update of the Sun xVM Ops Center at the end of May. Version 1.1 adds:
Disconnected management: Register systems locally (not with Sun) in disconnected mode and connect to retrieve knowledge and content
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 support: Satellite and Proxy can be deployed on RHEL 5
Enhanced Update and Job Management functionality: Edit, update, copy and rerun existing jobs; centralized viewing of patch inventory (display installed number of components x of x for a group of systems); agent Status page with Up and Down status; and "Simulate Only" role for the Update module
ILOM2 compliance: Removed all hard-coding needed to gather model name, kernel and class on ILOM2 Service Processor systems
