An Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) report singled out Sun's Open Work program as a recent innovation that demonstrates environmental efficiency as well as economic savviness. Women have had a substantial impact on Sun in relation to its growth, profitability and innovation, according to the YWCA of Silicon Valley, which recently honored four female Sun employees with 2008 Tribute to Women (TWIN) awards.
