You can now get Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000 and M5000 servers with 8GB total memory which includes two half populated memory boards using 1GB DIMMs. Customers also have the flexibility of purchasing a 4GB memory module (4 x 1GB DIMMs) and 4GB memory expansion kit (4 x 1GB DIMMs) as options for a lower priced system configuration.

Customers can upgrade to the new Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000 and M5000 configurations through the Sun Upgrade Advantage Program, which allows for a trade-in allowance to be applied as a discount off the list price of the new M4000 or M5000 configuration with the trade-in of a Sun or non Sun server. This includes some IBM, HP and Fujitsu servers.

These new configurations for the Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000 and M5000 servers are suggested upgrade opportunities for Sun's UltraSPARC IIIi servers. Customers can utilize the UAP program to consolidate many of these smaller UltraSPARC IIIi systems onto new M4000 or M5000 servers. For more information, see visit the Upgrade Advantage Program.
