Sun BigAdmin has a site devoted to Sun Configuration Diagram Templates to help system administrators quickly document a system configuration like rack placement, internal details, and connectivity of a complete system.

Most recently updated diagram templates include Sun's volume servers and M-Series servers. Also listed are x64 servers, enterprise, Sun Fire 20K/25K, workstations & Sun Rays, storage, Sun StorEdge 9970, Sun StorEdge 9980, Sun StorEdge 9990, Sun StorEdge L180, and Sun StorEdge L700. There are diagram templates available for EOL storage and servers, and one that includes hardware presentations.

Accompanying the templates, Tom Meier has an article posted on the BigAdmin Website offering users tips on using the Configuration Diagram Templates, which are made with StarOffice software.

All the items are sized to fall on the grid, and Meier shows how to set and use the grid. He recommends using the Option Bar in the Toolbar menu and points out icons he has found to be particularly useful. Text Editing is one he singles out, describing how to actually get selected text into editing mode and how to edit many text items or ones that are part of a group.
