Every year Sun puts on a major event for financial analysts. Sun has been developing a high-end SPARC processor with the codename Rock. One of Sun’s top engineers Marc Tremblay, delivered a paper at the ISSCC 2008 conference where he confirmed that Rock based systems would ship in the “second half of 2009“.

Sun Joins SOA Consortium

The advocacy group SOA Consortium now boasts Sun as a sponsor. The goal of the SOA Consortium is to assist Global 1000, major government agencies, and mid-market businesses successfully adopt Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) by 2010. Read more.

Sun Java Real-Time System Wins Reuters; Early Access for Version 2.1 Available

The Sun Java Real-Time System (RTS) will be helping Reuters, PLC address latency and unpredictable temporal performance of Java applications in the development and deployment of market-facing services. ... Sun has an early access preview version of its Java Real-Time System 2.1 for Red Hat and Suse Linux as a free download for members of the Sun Developer Network. Read more.
