Sun StorageTek LTO4 Fibre Channel and SCSI drive options are available for the Sun StorageTek SL24 Tape Autoloader and Sun StorageTek SL48 Tape Library. These products support HP LTO2 Half Height SCSI, LTO3 FC and SCSI, LTO3 Half Height SCSI and LTO4 FC and SCSI drives.

The Sun StorageTek SL24 tape autoloader and SL48 tape library provide high-capacity automated backup and recovery in a pace-efficient, highly manageable manner.

Features and Benefits

• Modular design features tool-free upgrades, minimal parts for ease of drive upgrades and cartridge/magazine import, export

- Small footprint/high cartridge density with native capacities of up to 18.2 TB in 2U (SL24 with LTO 4 drive) and 38.4 TB in 4U (SL48 with LTO 4 drive) for optimizing and saving rack space

• Half height and full height drives save space; maximize data retention; give cost-conscious customers a choice of using half height drives

• Products can be used in autoloader and library mode, minimizing planned and unplanned downtime.

• Web-based remote management via a network port allows users to control and troubleshoot the library, thus eliminating the need for costly onsite IT resources. It also gives the flexibility to manage library configurations and other system information, including passwords, the network, logs, and time and date. If there is a problem during the backup, an instant email alert is sent to the appropriate authority. These features simplify library management and improve staff efficiency, predictability, and trending.

• Ability to attach in heterogeneous environments to a variety of backup applications which boosts flexibility and minimizes the amount and cost of implementation.

Trade-in Allowance

The LTO4 Drive Options are included in the Sun Upgrade Advantage Plan. SL24 and SL48 libraries purchased with the LTO4 Drive Option will be eligible for an upgrade allowance when customers trade in qualified Sun and non-Sun storage systems. There are 2 levels of UAP trade-in allowances:

• A 10 percent allowance for the trade-in of newer and larger tape systems which will be applied against the list price of a new SL24 Tape Autoloader or SL48 Tape Library
