Latest Available NetBeans Build: Version 6.0 Beta 2 Released Under Both GPL2 and CDDL.
NetBeans latest build, NetBeans 6.0 Beta 2, comes bundled with MySQL and PostgreSQL drivers, and adds improvements to Ruby code completion and Woodstock 4.1 Build 14. The Java-based integrated development environment (IDE) is now dual-licensed under GPL v2 with ClassPath exception and the Sun Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) license.
The goal of the dual licensing is to help align NetBeans with the Linux community and major open-source projects, Sun explained, reported eWeek's Darryl K. Taft. The company sees this move as one that will strengthen the open source Java ecosystem by easing the sharing of NetBeans code and innovations with other projects.
Some of NetBeans 6.0, Beta 2 features:
Ruby/JRuby/Ruby on Rails support
Enhancements for improved Swing development
New Visual Game Designer
Updated Data Binding support
Integrated Profiling
New installer for a customized download
Also, the JavaFX Script plugins for the NetBeans IDE 6.0 Beta 2 can be downloaded and installed via the NetBeans Beta Update Center. You can access the update center by clicking Tools > Plugins in the main menu of the IDE. The plugins allow you to develop JavaFX Script applications while using some of the features of the IDE.
