Etude: The Solaris 8 Migration Assistant
Virtualization Technology to be Available Later this Year

Solaris 8 Migration Assistant (or Etude) can do a number of things: it can migrate legacy Solaris 8 environments onto modern, environmentally friendly, cost effective hardware and onto Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS). It can perform a Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) transformation of existing Solaris 8 systems into containers running on a Solaris 10 host.
