Volume 114, Issue 5

The first meeting of the Melbourne Solaris and OpenSolaris Users Group will be held September 12th, 2007. The meeting will focus on getting the group started by discussing what people are most interested in, such as the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS), OpenSolaris and closely related technologies.

The group is designed to encourage participation, with the hope that over time, everyone participating will have something to share with the group. Group participation could come from those who want to share implementations to exploring the deeper aspects of some particular Solaris feature to individuals who are interested in directly contributing to the OpenSolaris movement.

The speakers are Nathan Kroenert, who will present a talk titled "Niagara 2 CPU and Architecture Exploration" and Boyd Adamson, who will present a talk titled "Solaris Live Upgrade: Using and Abusing".
