SCP and RCP Protocols

If you ever tried to find information on scp/rcp protocols, you may have found documentation a bit scarce, or so did Jan Pechanec. In a July 9th Weblog, Pechanec details information gathered on these two protocols and describes how to use them.

Primarily focusing on scp, since rcp works the same way except for using rlogin as a mode of transportation, Pechanec provides figures of the scp command process and transfer protocol. Also explained are the source and sink mode, how to run scp with talkative shell profiles on the remote side, extensibility of the protocol and remote-to-remote mode.
