New 24.1-inch, 4th Generation LCD Monitor Being Introduced
Offers State-of-the-Art LCD Technology
Sun is introducing a new 24.1-inch, 4th generation LCD monitor to replace the current 24.1-inch LCD monitor. The new monitor offers ultra-fast, motion-enhanced, HD+ 24.1-inch LCD monitor; a resolution of 1920x1200, 2.3 million pixels; and S-PVA technology for an extreme wide viewing angle and smooth motion performance.
Express Rail Kit and Other Rackmount Kit Available for Sun Fire Servers
No Tools Needed

There are new rail and rackmount kits available for Sun Fire servers. A new Express Rail Kit is available for Sun Fire X4100 server (and M2), Sun Fire X4200 (and M2), Sun Fire X2100 M2 and Sun Fire X2200 M2 servers that can be installed without tools. There is also two-post rackmount kit for the Sun Fire V445 server.

Sun Rack Cabinet Configurations Assigned New Last Order Date
Order Sun Rack 1000-38 and 1000-42 through November 20th

The last order date (LOD) of two configurations of Sun Rack cabinets has been extended. The Sun Rack 1000-38 with front door and PDS installed and the Sun Rack 1000-42 with PDS installed can now be ordered through November 20, 2007.

    A 950 Watt power supply is now available as a 4 x 950W X-option kit for the Sun Fire X4600 and Sun Fire X4600 M2 servers. This power supply upgrade offers high power output to support 2+2 redundancy for a system with fully populated 8-processor and 64-DIMM configurations.

    Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000 Server Outperforms IBM and HP
    Based on Linpack Benchmark Results
    In a Linpack benchmark, the Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000 server outperformed IBM's new 4.7GHz POWER6 based p570 by more than 12 percent, reports BM Seer in a recent blog. Sun also beat the HP Itanium 2 rx8640 system by 40 percent on the Linpack HPC benchmark.
    Sun Blade T6300 Sets World Record
    On J2EE Multi-tier Benchmark
    BM Seer reports that a world record has been set by 10 Sun Blade T6300 Server Modules with a result of 8253.21 on the SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard. The Sun Blade performance using 10 UltraSPARC T1 chips was 8% better than HP's best result of 7629.45 SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard that used 6 rx6600 servers with a total of 24 Itanium2 chips.
