"In today's insurance industry, the product is no longer a competitive differentiator. To address this problem, Sun is now offering a new solution for the insurance industry, the Sun Distribution Channel Portal.

The portal solutions enables insurers to pull information from the back office to the point of sale (POS) without requiring any IT involvement at the front end. New customers can be reached by making insurer's products available in many outlets such as banks, supermarkets, post offices, kiosks and on telephones and PDAs. "Our new solution enables insurers around the globe to discover and implement new distribution channels in order to serve new markets – without increasing expense ratios," Scott said.

Real-time performance monitoring of agents, products and channels is available for the insurance industry. The portal offers First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to improve claims handling.
