An announcement from the OpenSolaris website states that there is ZFS boot support for the x86 platform. The previously announced ZFS Mountroot support in build 36 will no longer work.
A community on the OpenSolaris web site has been formed to focus on issues of observability in Solaris OS. They claim "if you cannot see a problem, you cannot fix it". This community will serve to explore existing Solaris tools and features as well as plan the next generation of OpenSolaris observability tools.
