First NEBS Level 3 Rack Server Powered by AMD with x64 Architecture: Netra X4200 M2 Server
Extending the Choice of Platforms for Telco Customers

The new Netra X4200 M2 server is NEBS Level 3 Certified and powered by AMD Opteron processor. This server is based on the Sun Fire X4200 M2 server announced in October 2006 and supports the Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS), Red Hat and SUSE Linux, and Windows.

Going Beyond Sun System: New Microelectronics Group Formed at Sun
David Yen to Lead the Group, Focus on Cryptography and HPC

David Yen will lead a new group at Sun that will work on cryptography, network and high-performance computing. This Microelectronics group will serve OEMs and existing Systems businesses. The group will work on high-speed networking silicon designs and the next generation of open-sourced chip multi-threading processors.
