Sun StorageTekTM 9900 Series HiCommand Tuning Manager 5.5 software for the Sun StorageTekTM 9910, 9960, 9970, 9980, 9985 and 9990 systems provides an overall view of the storage infrastructure with a focus on business-critical applications.

The software provides intelligent and proactive monitoring, reporting and forecasting capabilities of ST99xx storage resources, with a focus on business applications such as Oracle and MS SQL Server, tracks down problems in SANs, and reduces storage management complexity. The software is a key component of the ST9900 HiCommand Management Framework.

Version 5.5 has the following new features:

  • New OS and Application support: Support for Linux 4, HP-UX 11.31, and VxVM 4.1 for SolarisTM Operating System (Solaris OS). Support for SQL Server 2005.

  • New switch support. Silkworm 4900 and 7500 and McDATA i10k.

  • General GUI enhancements such as configurable session timeout value, capability to delete old resources.

Features of the Sun StorageTek 9900 Series HiCommand Tuning Manager software:

  • Provides an accurate picture of the surveyed infrastructure with regard to applications, server and storage sub-system views

  • Improves administrator's management workload by defining thresholds and alerts to avoid overrun situations
