The Sun Fire X4100 server and the Sun Fire X4200 server are both one- to four-way x64 rack servers, with the option to support the fastest dual-core or single-core AMD Opteron processors. They have 4 DIMM slots per CPU socket, and memory capacity up to 16 GB. They run the SolarisTM Operating System (Solaris OS), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Microsoft Windows and VMware ESX server.

The Sun Fire V40z server can run up to four single-core AMD Opteron processors Models 850, 852, 854, 856 (or up to four dual-core AMD Opteron processors Model 880, 885). It has up to 32 GB of registered DDR1/333 SDRAM or DDR1/400 SDRAM, and 16 DIMM slots.

VMware products provide enterprise-class virtual machines that increase server and other resource utilization, improve performance, increase security and minimize system downtime, reducing the cost and complexity of delivering enterprise services.
