The Java Platform, Standard Edition 6 (Java SE 6) release is now available. It features enhanced functionality for web services, dynamic language support, diagnostics and desktop applications. Java SE 6 is the current major release of the Java SE platform. It is fully supported by NetBeans IDE 5.5. The software also provides enhanced support for the upcoming version of Windows Vista.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles is now using a Sun Grid Rack system, comprising 400 Sun Fire x64 servers, Sun StorageTek solutions, Sun N1 software, all pre-integrated by Sun Customer Ready Systems to process and analyze vast amounts of complex data in the pursuit of medical discoveries that could lead to new treatments for life-threatening and chronic diseases.
One of Sun's own, Jerry Hunter, has been acknowledged for his leadership skills by Computerworld in its list of the Premier 100 IT Leaders. The people who made the Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders list are selected by the editors and by a panel of outside judges. Hunter was selected from nearly 500 nominees.

Version 1.3.2 of Sun N1 System Manager software is now available. Version 1.3 is being transitioned. New hardware support has been added for the M2 class of Sun Fire servers and others.
