Weekly Summary:
While the holidays can be fun with time off from work, good food, and reconnecting with people, some of the worst things are trying to find a parking space to go shopping then having to wait in line. Sun doesn't have the parking solution (yet), but they have lent Java CAPS technology to retailers such as Harrods of London and Karstadt department stores to help improve customer service [17422].
Some Sun promotions are set to end soon: December 31, 2006, is the last day to get a Sun Blade 8000 system with free Enterprise Installation Services [17398], and the last day to save 50 percent on training for Sun Fire x64 servers [17399].
The Storage section presents information on new versions of storage software: Sun StorageTek 9900 HiCommand Tuning Manager 5.1 [17375] and Sun StorageTek Business Analytics 5.1 [17370].
A tech tips explains how to use the notification plug-in with the Sun Java System Messaging Server 6 [17397], and article [17396] explains how to set limits in the messaging server to prevent denial of service attacks.
Have a happy and safe holiday.
