Prices Reduced on UltraSPARC IV+ 1.8GHz Sun Fire Server Configurations

By price reducing the 1.8GHz USIV+ based systems and boards, Sun customers will realize a greater price/performance benefit from the Sun Fire Enterprise server portfolio
 

Prices have been reduced on Sun FireTM V490-E25K systems and 1.8GHz UltraSPARCR IV+ Uniboards. This price reduction gives customers a greater price-and-performance ratio.

The Sun Upgrade Advantage Program (UAP) trade-in point requirements have been reduced based on the list price change for Sun Fire UltraSPARC IV+ 1.8GHz based servers and system boards. All current UAP programs and promotions remain available for upgrades to Sun Fire UltraSPARC IV+ 1.8GHz products.

The Sun Fire V490 server and others in the midrange class offer high performance and enterprise class features without the high prices of higher lever servers. The Sun Fire E25K server is a high end server that is massively scalable for mission-critical network computing needs.

Sun's UltraSPARC IV+ 64-bit processor is the fifth generation in our UltraSPARC processor family. It comes with significantly enhanced cores, 2 MB on-chip L2 cache, and an off-chip 32 MB L3 cache. This price reduction offer does not apply to the 1.5GHz UltraSPARC IV+. [...read more...]
