A new rack accessory is available that will increase the depth of the cabinets by 10 centimeters, allowing more space for cabling in the back. The rack extender accessory can be installed on SunTM Rack 900-38, SunTM Rack 1000-38, and SunTM Rack 1000-42.

The Sun Rack 900-38 is a 38U industry standard of 900mm depth for a small footprint. If you have purchased this rack but now need more depth, you can upgrade without having to purchase a new rack.

The Sun Rack 1000-38 has 1000mm of depth in the 38U rack.

The Sun Rack 1000-42 can accommodate taller racks to maximize space.

The Rack extension can be installed onto the front or the rear hinges of the cabinet. When installing the Rack Extension, the rear rack doors require no modifications; the extenders can just hang onto the existing hinges. When installing the Rack Extension to the front of the rack with the alloy design door, the rack hinges must be swapped with the provided hinges.

This rack extender can be used in Sun Grid Rack systems. It provides flexibility to deploy resources in data centers. There are no special tools required to install the extenders, just a Philips screwdriver (size #3) and/or a 10 mm wrench.

Factory integrated system in these Sun Rack Cabinets can be ordered through the Sun Customer Ready Systems (CRS) program to simplify and speed system deployment. Any Sun and any third-party qualified systems can fit in these cabinets. It is designed for Sun systems, so verify the fit first if you have a non-Sun system.

All Sun Rack Cabinets are 19" Electronic Industries Association (EIA) standard EIA-310-D rack enclosures and meet EIA standards for product mounting.
