Sun Gains Server Market Share for Third Consecutive Quarter
Gartner and IDC Report Growth in Server Market for Sun

The IDC Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker has reported that Sun has increased its market share more than any of the other top six server makers, including IBM, Dell and HP. Factors contributing to the success are the sales of Sun Fire servers and adoption of the Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS).

Growth in Sun's Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region exceeded 38 percent over the past year. Sales increased by 40 percent in the region and support services grew by 20 percent. An example of that growth is the Sun win of the Central Bank of Egypt.
