Superman lives there in his Fortress of Solitude. Santa Barbara's Rhythm & Hues Studios that is, which, for over 20 years has been a center for the creation of computer generated imagery (CGI). Now, Sun has lent its technology in the form of a digital archive storage system to the studios in an effort to improve the management of its archives while reducing the hardware footprint and enabling a five-fold performance gain.

Mentoring to Make the World Better Place: Sun at the UN Youth Summit
Sun Employees from All Over the World Can Participate

The first ever United Nations Global Youth Leadership summit was held during the last week of October in New York. The summit brought together young leaders from each of the UN member states, one man and one woman between the ages of 18 and 30, to participate in a forum where they can exchange ideas on making the world a better place. Sun offered all the delegates the opportunity to be part of Sun's UN Youth Mentorship Program.

Two Sun Fire E20K Servers as Consolidation Platfomr for over 20 Databases

When the large telecommunications company Telefonica de Espana needed to upgrade and consolidate its multiple Oracle databases, they turned to Sun and Oracle who implemented a solution for them. Telefonica has bought two Sun Fire E20K systems and will use the Solaris 10 Operating System (Solaris OS), Sun Cluster software and Oracle Real Application Clusters.
