The newest version of Sun Ray Software, 4 10/06, is now available for download. Version 4 10/06 brings support for new Linux distributions and updated support for Session Directory when using Windows Terminal Services with the Sun Ray Connector for Windows. The new features give customers greater flexibility in installation and configuration.
The new Reuters’ development center in China has selected Sun’s virtual desktop solution, providing them a new workplace of the future where desktops are tied to an identity and not a device. The company made the decision to move away from the traditional PC model and instead host virtual desktops in the data center using Sun Ray software and VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Employees are equipped with Sun Ray thin clients for on-site work and remotely access their virtual desktops through Sun Secure Global Desktop software which allows employees to securely reach their virtual desktops from a wide range of client devices connected to the Internet.
