The Sun StorageTekTM 5320 NAS appliance with AMD Opteron processor model 252 delivers a 55 percent increase in performance from previous generations. It scales to 179 TB to meet growing needs. This NAS appliance is now available to try for 60 days free of charge as part of Sun\'s Try and Buy Promotion.

The Sun StorageTek 5320 NAS Appliance is an easy platform to deploy and manage. In less than 15 minutes, it will be up and running with no disruption to data environments. The Appliance Management Module provides front access LCD and keypad input, soft shutdown from the front panel, ability to set an IP address and stealth health monitoring – all designed for simplicity, ease of installation and management, saving time.

Key features in the Sun StorageTek 5320 NAS Appliance include:

  • iSCSI support: Microsoft Windows Hardware (WHQL) certified for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Exchange environments, the Sun StorageTek 5320 NAS Appliance provides customers with an increased ability to consolidate storage for both file and block level storage with low-cost IP remote access.

  • Gateway Support: Includes additional gateway support for the midrange Sun StorEdgeTM 6130 and Sun StorEdgeTM 6920 systems and Sun's entire high-end disk portfolio, including the Sun StorEdgeTM 9970, Sun StorEdgeTM 9980, Sun StorEdgeTM 9985 and Sun StorEdgeTM 9990 systems, as well as Sun's FlexLine systems.

  • Anti-virus support: Includes integrated real-time file system anti-virus support for data protection against computer viruses and is certified with multiple scanning engines for anti-virus protection, including Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine.

  • Compliance Archiving Software Option: Stores and protects information and provides write-once-read-many (WORM) functionality for protected data on the same Sun StorageTek 5320 NAS server.

  • Secure and Compliant: Its closed operating system makes it more difficult to hack versus open architecture. It minimizes unauthorized access and viruses. Robust CIFS/Windows and NFS/UNIX security is supported. In addition, cross-protocol security mapping provides consistent security policies for objects created through one file system.

Test the Sun StorageTek 5320 NAS appliance for a free 60-day trial, risk-free. If you're not totally impressed, just send it back at Sun's expense and owe nothing. But with storage like this, you won't want to box it up again.
