The new Reuters’ development center in China has selected Sun’s virtual desktop solution, providing them a new workplace of the future where desktops are tied to an identity and not a device. The company made the decision to move away from the traditional PC model and instead host virtual desktops in the data center using Sun RayTM software and VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Employees are equipped with Sun RayTM thin clients for on-site work and remotely access their virtual desktops through SunTM Secure Global Desktop software which allows employees to securely reach their virtual desktops from a wide range of client devices connected to the Internet.
